Weird stuff going on with my PC

Hi! Lately I have been trying out some bots etc, some which are risky but I tried out etc, also downloading other regular stuff. And here comes the thing.. When I play for example, Counter-strike. I can sometime get a "lagg", which means my game freezes for a second, then it goes back to normal. Lately I get some sort of more powerful freezes, like my game actually freezes and stops responding, and I have to manage somehow to shutdown the program in order for my PC to go back to normal and later on I re-open the game and its all like usual, no laggs until it happens again..

So the the main thing, yesterday I was botting a little and running around buying some stuff in varrock, suddenly, my music freezes like you know that repeating lagg sound, then the fps clearly drops in the runemate client, my mouse eventually stops working, can't move it at all. It all ends up with my whole PC freezes. And my only option is to hold the power button and restart it. It happens this morning as well as I just started the bot and then my girlfriend started scrolling facebook and boom, freeze.

So after the lagg yesterday I cleaned my PC but like I said it happened again this morning, by cleaning I mean removing dust from the gfx card, the fan and everything I could find. Still hangs up from time to time.

Now an additional detail, I am using AVG virus protection and every single time I login to my pc, it says that it found a virus somewhere in some appdata folder, something with roaming and a weird name like blablabla. I do a virus scan, finds NOTHING on my PC.

Please help.. :(

Something like AVG won't help and would instead slow down your PC even more, install Microsoft EMET and Cryptoprevent if you want a secure PC. It sounds like it could be a hardware problem, perhaps you could create a new partition and install windows in there as well, run it and if you don't get the same problems you know it's hardware.

CCleaner, clean your disk from temp files, old programs, old
Program files....

It may take alot.

Check your startup settings.

If you have w7, open start and type system configuration

If you have w8+ open task manager and click on "Startup" tab.

Uncheck all stuff that is not needed. I bet you have plenty of stuff you dont want dont know they start. Those programs make your pc slower, take more cpu, internet, and that may be the cause of the laggs. Pc cant handle all of the requested tasks.

You will see when you uncheck all that stuff pc will start and run much much much faster.
Manually uninstall all programs you dont need. DONT SAY "mmmmMAYBE ILL NEED THAT ONE DAY!!!!!"

Dont. DELETE EVERY SINGLE THING YOU DONT USE ATLEAST 2 times a week.

Report back to me sir. Thanks

Thank you both so much for the responses, it means alot. I have now fullfiled each method you both proposed and now I hope for the best!

I have clearly noticed my AVG wont help me much as i mentioned in the thread. I havent been able to install the Microsoft thing tho, the download wont start :l.

Yeah, you read me like a book Qosmiof2, i got tons of softwares that starts when i start my PC, but i do shut them down when i start my PC. Haha and i always think like that when deleting programs, ironically. I shall delete some and perhaps consider clean my PC, i think its not that empty as i tell myself. Thanks!

Okay gentlemens, I have done both methods, although i just recently managed to install the emet due to bugs. But today I have sadly recieved a few crashes... But I managed once to take a view on my programs running and ram meter before my PC died, appearently its "Windows Installer" who basically takes every single bit of a ram and cpu, perhaps a virus that triggers it or something? All I do is shut down the process and sometimes that saves me. Perhaps any of you got better insight of the issue? Thank you both for helping me, I am soon considering turning in my PC on some sort of support repair.

lol dude

I read yesterday. Seriously. Windows 10 is downloading to your pc even if you have no intensions to update the windows. With that it will take you up to 9gb disk space, alot of internet connectionsy.

Turn off the windows updates. Set them to: never check for updates and uncheck all of the stuff... Microsoft is fucked up... They are tracing you on every fucking corner. Do that as fast as possible!!!!

Downloading shouldn't freeze your screen. It usually freezes due to the lack of decent hardware. IE your gfx card is very outdated or you have very little RAM installed, or you CPU is not good enough. Can you post the statistics of your PC here so we can see if there's a problem with your hardware?

Downloading makes you lag as your connection is getting worse because the download takes up brandwidth. But lag != freezing screen. A freezing screen is caused by hardware that isn't up for today's standard, or the game's standard. I'm betting 90% on either a bad graphics card or a faulty driver/outdated driver for your card.

This must be it, yes it doesnt always happen when i play games actually. Omg srsly Windows, i've Done 8283 virus scans, reinstalled like every single software. The thing is that when it happens i can see that Windows installer is KILLING my ram. I have 8gb ram, i5 3,2 or 3,4 ghz. Nvidia 660 gfx card. Cant believe i didnt think of that before. Going to be the first thing im doing once i get home. Thanks so much for answers all, and yea it is probably time to get myself a better gfx card but cant see that being the problem. Csgo doesnt take much at all to run also

Then i thought and read about it. I dont uderstand why do they want to control everything! THEY ARE FUCKING PUTTING ME THEIR WINDOWS TO SPY ON ME EVEN IF I SAID NO"... Fucking morons

Check your ram usage, I had the exact same problem. I have 8GB of ram and according to task manager constantly 95-98% of it was being used. I ended up underclocking my ram for the moment until I can buy more, and It has fixed my problems :D

And for the record, my pc is pretty current, even though I'm upgrading again very soon. CPU= i5-4690k overclocked @ 4.6GHz (have had a stable 4.7 overclock, but temps were a little too high for my liking). GPU =ASUS Strix GTX970. MOBO = Asrock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer. RAM = G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 <---- it's now underclocked to 1600 for the moment

There was this um, gosh I think it was a forum post, or a website thread of something.. Anyways, one of the members there posted a tool that removes all of the new things microsoft put in to help trace, and other annoyances. For people not trusting or not wanting to use the tool, they also showed how to remove everything without it. Since day 1 I've done that and I've never had any issues with that shit :D And my OS is pirated, as is 99% of the things on every hard drive I own (more than 10). However, to each their own :D

Okay, after browsing for a bit, I found the program I used to disable data logging and tracking + other things on windows 10.
https://github.com/10se1ucgo/DisableWinTracking/releases <------ that's the program

http://blog.lifars.com/2015/08/05/app-to-disable-windows-10-tracking-features/ <------- That's the website that explains what it does. As for why you can't find windows update, I'm not too sure :/. The spoiler below contains the steps to do what the program above does, if you don't want to download or run the program, plus a few bonus tips at the end. Good luck. As for me, I just bought some new ram :) Hopefully that fixes my issue.

There's been a lot of commotion over W10's privacy terms. I'm sure these methods can change/improve at any time, but here's a guide which should hopefully give you a relatively more private, safe experience, however at the risk of not being able to enjoy some of W10's features.

Before/During Installation

  • Do not use Express Settings. Hit Customize, and make sure everything is turned off.
  • It's strongly preferred that you use a local account with Windows 10.
After Installation

  • Head to Settings > Privacy, and disable everything, unless there are some things you really need.
  • While within the Privacy page, go to Feedback, select Never in the first box, and Basic in the second box.
  • Head to Settings > Update and Security > Advanced Options > Choose how updates are delivered, and turn the first switch off.
  • Disable Cortana by clicking the Search bar/icon.
  • (Optional) Disable web search in Search by going to Settings, and turning off Search online and include web results.
  • Change the name of your PC by going to Start (or hitting the Windows key), typing About PC, and clicking Rename PC.
Slightly Complex

  • Open up the Command Prompt by launching cmd as an administrator, and enter the following:
sc delete DiagTrack

sc delete dmwappushservice

echo "" > C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Diagnosis\ETLLogs\AutoLogger\AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl

  • Open up the Group Policy Editor by launching gpedit.msc as an administrator. Go through Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Data Collection and Preview Builds. Double click Telemetry, hitDisabled, then apply. NOTE: This only truly works in the Enterprise edition, but the final step provides a decent enough workaround for Pro users.

  • While still in the Group Policy Editor, go through Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > OneDrive, double click Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage, hit Enabled, then apply.

  • While still in the Group Policy Editor, go through Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender, double click Turn Off Windows Defender, hit Enabled, then apply.

  • Open up the Registry Editor by launching regedit as an administrator. Go throughHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\DataCollection, selectAllowTelemetry, change its value to 0, then apply.

  • First, download the Take Ownership tweak and enable it. Then, head to the Hosts File by going throughC:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc, take ownership of the hosts file, and add all of the IPs from this page into the file.
Up To You

  • Replace Microsoft Edge/Internet Explorer with Firefox, Chromium, or any forks/variations of them.
  • Replace Windows Media Player with VLC or MPC-HC
  • Replace Groove Music with Foobar2000, Winamp, or MusicBee.
  • Replace Photos/Windows Photo Viewer with ImageGlass or IrfanView.
