The reality is, if you are in the botting "scene" you are more likely to be the type of person who downloads gold generators, visits dodgy RWT forums hell, even tries to download a cracked or nulled version of RuneMate, as opposed to a normal legitimate player who would never visit such sites.

That alone puts you at a significantly higher risk than a normal player for having your account details compromised.

Blame RuneMate all you want, but the fact that non-staff, real world users are defending RuneMate, shows how much trust people have in the product, and rightly so.

Sorry, but it wasn't RuneMate.

If you had a bank pin it's 99% chance you visited a phishing site. The chance that he could guess your bank pink is so freaking unlikely it's insane. If he did F for you, but most likely you just visited a "double xp osrs" twitch stream :)

im saying someone has found a way into the programs code and is able to view other peoples account information if its saved in the bot is all, that is the only negligence on my part, no twitch feeds, odd clients etc.. im angry because i only made this account out of nostalgia when the phone app turned to shit and my old account from back in the day was banned. also the 5m lost was some starter cash paid for through a bond so yeah a little miffed my money was taken. im not taking aim at your whole company, just the one what have you who took my accounts things. like i said, i donated and paid for an experience and if its to be robbed from me i can just as well move on and not be business from here on. basically if you are foolish enough to have a client with that potential flaw in it your business will dwindle and its done from there ye know? ohh and its not the value of what was taken, though that shouldnt be an issue either if morals were anything, its the principle... letting someone take 3$ is tantamount to letting someone bully your wealth away were it much more valuable. tell me i am wrong.. do you steal from the richest people? or do they steal from you and you just put up with it.. because its, just 3$ more then their cost.. even though it cost them 3 cents to sell..
super basic for yous if its not gotten through. your program has an exploit someones used to take your customers things and laughing about the meager value, or dismissing them as just user shortcomings is a terrible business model and if you believe thats how you will make money best then i wish you the best of luck in your endeavors and know you will have lost this customer.

botting scene? i googled runescape bot after i made a runescape account out of passing fancy( scrolling facebook a phone app appears) , this was the first to come up, only made an account again for the luls.. wanted to see how far runescape has fallen having such repetitive tasks to play the game but not letting you all make real money with their entire client base in addition to the membership fees they charge so that they could actually have a player base again too.. only got a bot because to play runescape is boring AF except for certain fights and minigames. really they would have players if they let people bot, you create the bots and charge your fee's per hour like inapp purchases for idle gaming and then they would have players.. stupid idle phone apps have millions of players but no settle for a couple hundred thousand at best in the game and what, 3000 people here??? and yanking as its been put 3$ from someone and call it a win... ahahahaha what a laugh.. i should have come here for some laughs..

Boom, now I think I see what happened. The majority of Facebook "ads for RuneScape" are actually phishing sites. If you clicked any ad on FB for RuneScape, you probably got phished right there. Hell, if you clicked on any ad anywhere for RuneScape you probably got phished.

Like I said, runemate didn't take your 5m. Look at it logically man: every time someone posts one of these "runemate hacked me" threads they're always a new naive user with only a couple mill. If there was a way for bot authors to steal from accounts, they DEFINITELY wouldn't blow their cover by stealing $3 at a time, they would go after much bigger fish. And I've never heard of a single reputable, careful member complain about being hacked by runemate. And if you're thinking admins are stealing 5m at a time from tiny accounts... Get real man. Admins have bigger fish to fry. This website brings in thousands of dollars and admins also spend thousands of dollars on upkeep, server costs, etc.

Seriously, if there was some big conspiracy here there'd be more significant chatter about it. Not random noobs saying they lost a couple mill.

the mobile app is legit, can be downloaded off the official website. Nah i dont think it was that either.. the occurrence had an attempt to happen again today.. but it didnt happen because my username and password were not in runemate.. breaks had been disabled but the bot had attempted to log me out and log in again using the incorrect credentials i gave it.. luckily i was watching the bot and saw it happen this time.. id provide logs if you all werent so thoroughly convinced there was no threat in your software.. but then again, from the start i had a feeling no one here was going to listen when i mentioned an exploit.. what with all the its my fault for getting hacked talk.. like i said before my only mistake was putting real information in the bots account handler and not just observing the bot and handling breaks myself like ive started doing.
dude with 100m gone was just a naive user losing little though right..? if i bought that much from bonds itd cost what.. 240$ or there abouts? the account is new, i am no runescape noob. my main got banned 4 years ago and i stopped playing is all, got to i think 2218 total skill before it got screwed.. its not a big conspiracy, they are taking little enough at a time by your standards to just say, ohh user error, their own dumb ass fault, not a problem on our end.. etc and its going to keep happening and driving off your business... and btw when i say i watched the bot it clicked log out though it had no instructions to and immediately started typing the faulty user id, in a more human way then i expected(quicker than normal break handler doing it thats for sure).. looked like remote control because it was happening on my screen.. food for thought.

besides.. i made a new account playing from the computer and a new one on the phone.. the phone account has had no issues, the account thats using rune mate has.. you calculate the variable... because this is twice now things would have been stolen from my account if i hadnt taken counter measures and brought the issue up for debate. i will say the first time i wondered if it was because i had the outdated version of the bot client because it posted an update while i was away.. but it had a recurrence today with a fully up to date client, luckily thwarted not putting account details into client............................

That's how the client works. When the acc gets logged out for any reason (eg. bug in the bot, planned logout from the bot, breaks, etc etc), the client automatically attempts to login with stored user data. That's very flattering you find it extremely looking typing human lol.

Who? I don't know who you're referring to. Just because someone had 100m doesn't mean they're not naive/prone to making mistakes/immune to a keylogger from elsewhere btw.

Your computer account probably got hacked & not your mobile one because you probably clicked a link/entered your info on a phishing site/client from your computer.

None of this proves it's runemate. If you're so convinced someone's literally RATing you through runemate, go download a screen recorder, run runemate on an account with a mill or something and upload proof of it happening to youtube or something.

This is still going on??

I am not trying to be rude, but why would RM risk their reputation in hacking your account for that small amount of gold??

I don't really understand it. It is chump change compared the the revenue they make. I don't think it is really fair when you blame a botting client, when you joined RM on the 5th of may and then 6 days later, you were hacked.

It would really be interesting to see what sites you had visited prior to posting this and also other clients and things which you have downloaded.

I haven't been here for overly long, but I know for a fact, that it's not RM which is causing you guys to get hacked.

You need to preform your own due diligence, instead of pointing the finger at the client.

Locking this thread as it's just going to continue to turn in to a shit slinging contest.

OP, think what you want but RuneMate is not responsible for your account being compromised.
