RuneLoader heavily uses JavaFX and that sucks. Everyone knows that actual, real botting is done on Linux machines, not some Windows. RuneMate should focus on that, not on home users.
RuneMate is actually more focused on the casual botter, with a few accounts or just his own main. It's not an ideal platform for goldfarmers because of the monetization model that basically enforced pay for what you use. This also means a large sum of the users is using the client on a Windows based platform, not Linux.

Google has a free trial of their Google Cloud servers. You need a credit card to sign up though. Once the free trial runs out (you get 2 months), you can just make a new account and repeat.

This is incredibly useful because you can carry on botting even when your PC is off.

  1. Navigate to Google Cloud Platform
  2. Create a new developer account
  3. Create a new project - the name and ID don't matter as they are for your reference only.
  4. In the overview of your project, click Compute and then VM instances.
  5. Create a new VM, I used the Windows Server 2012 image. Don't bother trying to pick a Linux image, Runemate doesn't run well on Linux.
  6. Wait a few minutes for the VM to be created.
  7. Click the Connect RDP button

  8. When connected, download the JRE and Runemate
  9. Log in and bot away, for free!
I don't recommend botting 24/7, so you might want to get a script that automatically stops the bot - such as MaxiBotScheduler.
When i'm installing runescape it says: "The System Administrator Has Set Policies to Prevent This Installation"

run it as admin
Won't work for legacy client since Google disables the MSI for it. You have to be sneaky and use the CMD prompt (admin) console.

change the directory to the downloads folder by typing "cd.." tell its just pointed to the main C: drive then type "cd users" then "cd (put your username here)" then "cd downloads" and then run it from the console using "start Runescape.msi"

This is such a mess, just read all of the replies here, hoping to find a answer to my question, i too have the error where internet explorer prevents me from downloading pretty much anything. I cant even download Java. What VM did you guys used im currently using some Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter.

Edit: i got runemate working, but i think its almost impossible to get OSRS client installed because i have tried nearly everything available on the internet and nothing has worked so far. It just gives me the error where it says i should contact the .msi vendor to verify that its valid package.

They fixed it, not do-able anymore, just tried. Still gives the same error i just described above. I have wasted good 6h trying to get this to work.

It really isn't difficult, and perfectly possible to do. I did it yesterday..

Simply open the cmd prompt (with admin privs). Navigate to the directory where the installer is, and launch it with the cmd prompt.

For example:

Move it to the desktop, then navigate there (cd Desktop).
Then simply run 'OldSchool.msi' in the cmd prompt (or whatever the installer is recognized as).

This seems like a great way to save a load on your computer. Also if you are trying to run multiple instances great way to farm. Do you know if they charge you monthly or for usage?
