1. Try to reinstall oldschool runescape from scratch. So uninstall it and after uninstalling use spotlight to locate any folders named 'jagexcache'
2. If step 1 doesn't work, you can always try to manually start your oldschool runescape client. I believe this error occurs if Runemate can't start the client for you. But you can always start it manually yourself and then bind the RM client to your OSRS client. To do this, locate your Jagex cache and look for the folder bin where you will find an OSRS executable
3. If step 2 doesn't work, try to start the runemate client as admin

Read Resolved - RuneMate Installer won't install RuneMate on MacBook Pro

Uninstall RuneMate
Uninstall any Java versions
Delete all associated cache files
Reinstall RuneMate and try again
use the standalone client

Install a Java Developer Kit (JDK) and open them with that.

Or, use the command line to open the jar referencing the JRE in the Internet Plug-In

Download the JDK 1.8 from Java SE Development Kit 8 - Downloads and retry.

Have u checked your antivirus vault?
I recently updated my AV and was unable to start Runemate due it being blocked by my AV
If so just make a exception and make sure u make exception for the whole runemate folder

1) Uninstall RS AND runemate
2) Uninstall Java How do I uninstall Java on my Mac?
3) Reinstall Java How do I install Java for my Mac?
4) Redownload Runemate STANDALONE (Far right link) Download | RuneMate
5) Redownload Runescape
  1. Right click on your OSRS application, and select "Show Package Contents"
  2. In the Contents directory you'll find a file called Info.plist
  3. Edit it with either Xcode or a text editor like TextEdit
    • For Xcode, remove the JVMOptions entry as shown in the image below
    • Using a text editor, remove the line saying <string>-Djava.system.class.loader=app.systemclassloader</string>
  4. Save the changes and start your OSRS application again.
Open Runemate standalone, it should work. I had massive issues with RUnemate on Mac, but standalone works well.

Open Applications and then open it in a new window. This is the RUNESCAPE application, not the Runemate one!

Open package contents of the RS client and then edit the info.plist file for RUNESCAPE. Probably should mention in the instructions! ;-)
