RuneMate is dying

Been a member for over 8 years and it feels like this bot platform is dying. Less and less bot development. Constant incompatibility and support for scripts due to abandonment. The fact that scripts charge you in the beginning and not within the first 5 - 10 minutes of use is frustrating. The downfall feels like it's coming. It's frustrating but I think it's time to move on to another source.

I’ve only been a user for a few months but I come from another reputable bot site where I was a member and active user for 3+ years and the scripts offered here are way more diverse and have way more options. I’ve been able to actually find bots for things in the game that the other site never made, it was very limited.

I’m not a fan of the credits being charged right at the time you start it, I’ll agree with that. it’s a pretty dumb idea but I kinda understand why they choose to operate that way.

I'm writing this with a heavy heart and a tear-streaked face. The day we all feared has come. Our beloved botting platform, RuneMate, is gasping for air. Ever since that dreaded May 14th update, it's been one outage after another. It's like Jagex cast a permanent DDoS spell on us.

I've been using RuneMate since the good old days when I first set foot in Lumbridge, back when the only worries we had were avoiding those pesky Dark Wizards south of Varrock. Now, we're battling constant server outages and the heartache of lost progress.

Remember the golden days? The sweet, sweet feeling of waking up to a full inventory of yews, the adrenaline rush of a maxed out bank, or the joy of a bot army mining Rune essence while we sipped on our Mountain Dew and crunched Doritos. Those were the days. sigh

But now... oh, the agony! Every time I try to log in, it's like rolling a D20 for a critical hit and landing a natural 1. I've tried everything – restarting my router, sacrificing a burnt lobster to the RNG gods, even attempting to code my own fix (and let's be real, my coding skills are about as good as my PvP skills – absolutely abysmal). NOTHING WORKS.

It's not just the outages either. The glitches! Oh, the glitches! My botting scripts are more broken than my heart after my RuneScape girlfriend left me for a guy with a party hat. Bank standing, endless walking loops, and my character getting stuck in the same place for hours. I'm practically a walking meme at this point.

To the devs of RuneMate, if you're reading this – please, for the love of Saradomin, FIX THIS. Or at least give us some answers. We're a community, a family of misfit scapers just trying to make our way in Gielinor. Don't leave us hanging like a noob on Tutorial Island.

So here's to the memories, to the countless hours we spent together, and to the hope that one day, RuneMate will rise from the ashes like a phoenix. Until then, I'll be here, reliving the glory days and praying for a miracle. ✨

Stay strong, fellow botters. We may be down, but we're not out.

you're wrong, respectfully ofcourse

both client and bot development are more active than ever
Explain?

For the past year, scripts have constantly been breaking. Bot authors don't provide proper updates / fixes to their scripts. Runemate's compatibility with Runelite / OS Java launcher is splotchy. Online users are declining. You're a staff member so obviously you will say i'm wrong without giving proper context as to why I am wrong? I've been a customer for years, and I have experienced the decline firsthand. So please, explain how I am wrong?

Online users are declining.
Online users are near like, 5 year+ high. The count on the homepage went down because they changed the metric to no longer include idle clients & some other stuff that was making the numbers inaccurate.

There is way more active bot authors now than like 5 years ago, possibly the most ever. Some authors make stuff & disappear, but for most bots there's other options from active devs. Or it's an activity so niche that a bot for it just wouldn't have existed at all a few years ago.

There's been issues post migration but that's because Runemate just saw the biggest overhaul it's seen in years.

I'm not saying you're specifically saying this, but I've seen this notion that "Runemate has had more downtime lately, clearly development on it is dead" while ignoring that the entire backend and forums you're currently typing on have clearly been overhauled just now.

In fact, I've had a script running scraping "RuneMate's Online" from the homepage for the past couple years and here's the results.

(Note: the graph cuts off right when the site migration happens because of course the scraping task broke, but yes of course it would be a sharp decline at that time because the homepage metric changed)
(Note 2: gaps are when my server went down)

Credits being charged before you hit "start" is really dumb. I've actually lost a few bucks just from having to restart the bot in under a minute half the time before hitting start because the UI in runemate went crazy. But overall its alright.

I am already looking for a replacement. I am hugely dissatisfied with how they charge credits similar to the opinions expressed by others here too. I think the 5 minute delay is actually an incredible idea and would resolve a lot of my disdain with runemate.
