After an intense few days of round the clock investigation, we are happy to announce that the RuneMate client is back online and safer than ever! Windows support has been released. Mac and Linux will follow in the next few days. Happy botting.



To review the events of the last few days, RuneScape 3 had a ban wave that affected all RuneScape botting clients. RuneMate's Staff holds itself to a higher standard and as such we voluntarily shut down the client to investigate whether or not any new detection methods was introduced even though the client was fully functional during this time. Our efforts were very fruitful in identifying a number of potential areas that Jagex could be using, most of which have never been previously explored in this scene. We followed a systematic process of rating threat levels for each of these and mitigated them by priority. Additionally, we have added more heuristics to our automated real-time monitoring system that will notify us immediately of any interesting changes Jagex makes.

The investigation ultimately yielded that this was most likely just a seasonal ban wave and not a bot nuke at the code level, like ClusterFlutterer was in the past. Our decision to voluntarily go offline to investigate was proactive and arguably unneeded as it turned out, but we do not regret it one bit. At the end of the day nothing is more important to us than your account's security - usage statistics, advertisement income, or web traffic can't even come close. Also, as a result of the ensuing investigation we are even more confident in the quality and security of the product we are offering you.

So any version (32 or 64bit) for windows will work with safety ??

I started using the client again at around 9am EST today. I had 2 accounts that I was using prior to the "ban scare" and the client going down. Both were fine, and I played on both of them daily while the client was down. When I started using the client again this morning, everything was fine. Everything ran well until around 2pm, at which point I left to go grocery shopping. Upon return, both accounts had been perma banned. Perhaps everything didn't get ironed out, @Arbiter @Cloud

Edit: I was playing Darkscape, windows 7 professional, 64 bit.

Definitely not 'safer than ever'. Thankfully i stopped botting on my main account but my other account got banned after 1 hour of botting........

I was safe before the client was temporarily disabled. played on my account multiple times on regular client until the client came back up. Runemate said the client was safer than ever so I botted for 3 hours and logged out, come back today to find out it's banned..

There was a follow up update around 3:30pm today that ironed out a few issues and since then the amount of ban reports dropped significantly while our user count has climbed. I would say we really are safer than ever.

They'll know that you're the real owner of the account. People won't be able to bullshit their way out of bans. In other words: "I was hacked, I didn't bot on the account!!" won't work. Botting on another IP won't save you anymore...

With that logic, then shouldn't I remove authenticator on my account?

You really don't know what you're talking about, but whatever I'm done wasting time, people will get banned and then maybe you will realize... I and I'm sure many others got banned today when going back in Darkscape. Write some facts next time not your opinion.
