WTF IS GOING ON!!! I woke up this morning to all my account items and gold to be gone! and my original runemate accounts password and email has been changed with a confirmation email being sent to my real email address and I have no way to recover it. HELP!

my orignal account name it just skeetles.
[email protected] this is the email it was changed to if any admin can help me recover my account thanks.

How the hell was my runemate account hacked? and subsequently my runescape account because the information is stored when you log in.

In case you're fucking retarded and can't read Derk is completely right. I've had hundreds of mills on my accounts RS3 & OSRS and have never been hacked.

Then why weren't any of my other accounts or my bank info or anything else a lot more valuable than the measly amount of gold I had on my start up bot character hacked... I have a main that isn't linked to runemate and it hasn't been touched. the only thing that has been comprimised was my runemate account. sure I could enable 2FA but that doesnt change the fact that he somehow got my login info? I don't download virus's, and If I had he would of hacked my other accounts too because they have 100x more gold than the bot account. I'm not blaming runemate, but its not my fault. So what else is to blame?

This happend to me earlier as well. No one believes you with these types of posts, so be careful. All you can do is not put ur login info in the bot.

It's possible that one of your addresses was in the breached data that was released on a couple of website hacks, you can see if yours got leaked somewhere here: www.leakedsource.com/

Your email was hacked into. People know RM stores your information on auto-login. Enable 2FA on email and RM

It is pretty much your fault. You don't have 2FA enabled, so in case of emergency there is no layer of security saving your runescape account data you entered into runemate.

Squidl your an idiot mate, learn to fucking read like you posted earlier.

My email has NOT been hacked.. NOTHING else has been touched besides my runemate account, which has my runescape info.

Sure I could of had 2FA enabled, but why do people have access to the runemate password database? whats the point of even having a password if there is nothing stopping people from taking my account. 2FA is an added security measure to the already main security measure... a secure database with encrypted passwords. If you think anything else you are stupid and ignorant.

I never said runemate wasnt safe i just said that hypothetically just in case runemate gets hacked ( there are much bigger and more significant database leaks around ) you shouldnt store your login details in it, you low iq degenerate with horrible genetics.

you can setup 2FA
you can setup a range of tolerated ip addresses
you can try not to get hacked in the first place
if your runemate account gets compromised you probably deserve it

I searched all my emails with the link you provided, nothing came up.

2FA could've stopped a lot here. Not just on RM but on the account (if you don't have 2FA on all of your rs accounts by now, you're an idiot). And even if they did get access to your RM account password, can't log into the acc without approving the new ip address via email..

I have a paypal account, ebay account, amazon, countless other websites with more valuable information and WITHOUT an authenticator and I have NEVER been hacked in my 25 years of existence. I didn't think I would need one for something as simple as my runescape account. lesson learnt I guess. they all have 2FA now including all my email address's, but it still doesn't change the fact that runemate isn't secure right...? There's recurring billing and payment information stored here... its a bigger deal than simply making a new runemate account, I was a supporter for a long time and had a recurring subscription.

How is RuneMate not secure?
You're literally given options to only be able to login with your phone right next to you. How are you going to get hacked then? Someone breaking into your house for some RSGP?

Do you share your paypal log in across sites? What about ebay, amazon, etc? No. With rs accounts you do. And hacking PayPal, eBay and amazon accounts are a lot less anonymous than rs accounts.

Still my RM account hasn't ever been hacked? Even if it did, they wouldn't be able to do anything without me approving the ip address via my email. They couldn't log into the client without my 2FA code. Even if they logged into the client, got my password from the client and tried to log in to the account, they still need another 2FA code thats setup with another, non related email. So in the end, it takes what? 2 extra minutes to set up a long line of work for them - for an account that they aren't even sure has over 50k. If it takes 2 extra minutes, why not just add the extra security?

And I doubt it was RM. My accs have been in the client for a while and none of them have been hacked. It's probably your email that got hacked, even if it wasn't 'leaked' and that's on you to secure.

RuneMate provides various of security layers, its up to you if you want to use them or not. I've been here since 2015, got over 10B on my accounts and I haven't been touched. Blaming RM for your own stupidity is simply plain stupid. Like Serene said, if you logged on the RM client or forums from a new location or IP it would've sent you an email with a confirmation code that approves the new location & IP... YOUR ORIGINAL EMAIL. If it was changed you still had to confirm the change via the ORIGINAL EMAIL. See where I'm going with this?

I had all the security layers but apparently it didnt stop them.

At 12:12PM Someone changed my e-mail to [email protected]
At 12:14PM Someone tried to access the ONLY runescape account that I used on RuneMate, coincidence?

Someone from germany, IP Is 192.42.116.16.

It happened to multiple people so please don't tell us bullshit like RuneMate is bulletproof.

They didn't manage to log in my runescape account, thank god, but it was still annoying getting my RuneMate account back.

I didn't log in before that for a week or so here, barely been online playing League of Legends and my password is unique, so no bullshit about it being leaked magically when it can't be leaked.
