When you start a bot, you get the full hour of botting. If you however wish to stop the bot before that hour is over, it's your problem, not RuneMate's.
Same as you get the full sandwich, but it's up to you to completely eat it, or throw away the rest.

Apparently you had to stop the bot because the bot itself malfunctioned. That happens. The best you can do is to let the author know so he can fix it. What were you expecting to happen after restarting the bot several times, that it magically starts to function well?

I restarted hoping that it would get itself unstuck. And that it was a one time error. As it's a paid bot my assumption should have been correct that it wasn't something that happens frequently, rather just a fluke. Otherwise it should be off the store as the bot doesn't work! Like I said, I lost like $1. The money was never the issue, it's the principle. I think Runemate is sincerely the best botting client out there at the moment, but everything has flaws and this is a big one in my eyes.

Tbh I don't disagree with you. Unfortunately Arbiter has decided to make the botstore as free to usable as possible. That includes premium bots officially not having any different quality control than free bots at all.
That's something incredibly irresponsible, but unfortunately RuneMate lacks personal to constantly control the quality of premium bots.

That's also why we will stick with the hour system, it guarantees that at most the user loses an hour, in contrast a monthly licensing system where you'd lose a whole month if the bot does not fulfil the quality standard you expected.

Could have a system where you buy hours upfront. Buy 6 hours and the script will work for 6 hours not counting time that it is not running. So u run for 2 hours stop for a week run for 4 more and then stop.
In this scenario it fixes problems of monthly shit script and the problem OP is having.

And then the 6 hours are reached while the bot is fighting a monster, stops, and you die :p
Anyway this has been discussed dozens of times. It won't change.

It's not the quarter lost. It's the principle. I would love to support the bot, but why would I continue to put money into it when it has the potential to charge me 4x posted pricing? The client should actively record the time the bot is used, therefore not wasting money based on starts and stops. The system is flawed. I'm not up in arms I'm pointing out an obviously broken system. I'm simply stating that until this obvious flaw is fixed I personally won't put money into it.

If I go into a sandwich shop and pay $5 for a footlong sandwich, I expect a footlong, not a 3' sandwich.

I would like the client to actually have some sort of time mechanic implemented so that I can spend more money botting and not feel like I'm getting shafted if the bot is bad.
You know that all premium bots allow you to change settings without stopping and starting again, right?

To be fair the hour system needs to be scraped. We're the only platform that uses it and it's super inconvenient.
I don't see the problem, to be honest. The alternative is paying per month, week, day, lifetime, etc. That gives goldfarmers a better deal, but normal botters a worse deal. Why buy that $5/month bot when you need it only for one or two levels? Compared to the goldfarmer who runs the bot 24/7, paying only $5 for as much time he can fit in that month. RuneMate is for the normal player, not the goldfarmer.

I really don't understand why Runemate doesn't offer both options hourly/annually for the bot authors to decide if they want to use both or specific one.

I didn't want any setting changed at all though, I just anted the bot to work properly. The bot stopped in the maze and waited there for 30 minutes. I clicked the maze manually to jump start it, it didn't begin working. Do you see another option other than restarting in that scenario?

reading the thread for the bot to see if anyone else has reported the issue and if there's a fix. If not then reporting the issue and supplying logs so the author can try to take a look at it and fix the issue.

Locking this as it's just turning in to back and forth drivel.

As has been posted, if you have a problem with a premium bot and it has unfairly taken your wallet credits, post in the relevant bot thread explaining your case to the author, it is at their discretion whether they refund you.

If you discover bugs on any bots, make a detailed bug report to the author in the appropriate thread - the more we all contribute to bettering bots and fixing issues, the better RuneMate will be for everyone.
