Resolved Question for the bot authors

Seems like people don't use bot paints (example) anymore, at least in RuneMate. Why is this so and what's the alternative to this?

The other question being, does anybody really implement antiban or is it futile?

Paints are obsolete, we use Embeddable UI (JavaFX).
Anti-ban isn't really needed because of Clouse, but some of us have some intelligent anti-patterns in place :)

Proper use of PlayerSense and well written bots are all the anti-ban you need.

By using JavaFX you mean having a separate window displaying all the progress data I assume, or am I mistaken?
Also I've seen people post some plain-text logs around the forum, are these meant for the actual bot user to look at with any other purpose than debugging?

EmbeddableUI is embedded in the RuneMate client. Go and run any bot with a UI to see what I mean.
