I am worried about manually playing on my main, while I have 3 alts bottling in the background. Is there any risk to doing this? If so what precautions should I take?

No.

While there is always a chance Jagex will chain ban your accounts (banning all accounts used on the same computer/IP address) this is very unlikely unless you are doing a seriously large amount of goldfarming.

I see, So regardless if I am playing my main or not, the risk is still there to have it "chain banned"?
