Hi everyone, just a quick suggestion; is it possible to implement a system where the author must update their bot withing a time frame (say 2 weeks) or it gets temporarily removed from bot store? there are a few up there that haven't been touched in a while and some that just don't work and their owners haven't responded to bug reports

I wouldn't suggest such a system, but maintaining a clean botstore IS a good idea.

It not being updated doesn't mean it's necessarily broken. If you're sure it's broken, message either @Party or @Aidden for further inspection.

Such a system would be very counter intuitive. Ideally a bot is developed to never be updated again (unless it gets new features).

But if it doesn't work/work properly it'll need updating right? Ive tried close to 10 bots today and all of them either wont start, crash before they've even started or get stuck. Ie yesterday i setup superheater bot and 1hour later it only made 9 bars. It was stuck selecting ores

Update: running maxicooker atm, all set up right and it wont withdraw any fish. Ive gotten 99 cooking twice with this bot so im familiar with how to set it up

Just because something doesn't work doesn't mean the author is aware of it. Deleting the bots right away is pretty harsh, considering you also didn't take the time to report the issue.

If it doesn't perform as expected, report it on the thread. See my signature for the how-to. Then remove it from your bots and try another.

I report all issues i get on the error page that pops up then i click submit. Doesn't that alert them?

It only sends them the exception, it doesn't provide them with any other information. If it's a bug and not an exception there won't be a window pop up and therefore you wouldn't be letting the author know the bug exists. Posting on the bot thread with all relevant details and following any bug reporting format the author may have provided in the overview is the best way to give authors the information they need to fix bugs.
