One of the one things I've always wondered about Runemate is how dumb it is to make it so you get charged for a full hour if you either fail to setup your bot correctly in a preset time (depending on the bot) or if the bot fucks up out of your control. I understand there's money to be made but it's pretty dishonest for it to charge you even if the bot stopped after 2 and a half minutes. It puts you in a position in which whether or not you want to go to the forums to combat being charged anywhere from 4 cents to 20 since it's practically inconsequential but it all adds up over time. I'm not a coder and don't know any of the intricacies behind what goes on behind the scenes but it seems silly to me to be charged for something I don't have control for, or I stop the bot before I even gain any exp. And I just don't want to make a post or sling anything towards the coder of that specific bot. I also know there's the user error but there's definitely still situations where it's like, yeah, you can just do the trial version of a bot and then move on to the real version, but even then, sometimes it still just fails at the start and you still get charged for that one hour. Also, if there's something going on with runelite / runemate, you just get fucked for a few cents but it does add up. It would just be more fair if they gave a grace period of 2 minutes and 30 seconds of a bot going before charging the full hour because I don't think any gains would be made in that time period. Everyone's doing it for the automated process, and truthfully, it's not going to dissuade me from using Runemate because I know these are the best bots available and I never get banned, but its still kind of silly to charge someone for things out of their control. Also running it back on my statement of the 2 minutes and 30 seconds - I don't think that should be something applicable to someone already having a bot running for over an hour. I do know some bots don't have a feature to turn it off after a certain time frame but that should be something you should be conscientious for. I'm specifically saying if the bot fails within 2 and a half minutes you shouldn't be charged because you 9 times out of 10, gained literally nothing.

The hourly pricing option, actually favours end-users. Sure you spent 0.08c to figure out a bot doesn't work / don't like it, VS spending $10, like everywhere else. You also could message the bot developer, 9/10 we don't mind to refund you the few cents.

Just to clarify, specific bots don't have the ability to choose when to charge botters; The transaction system is entirely handled by runemate as a platform. It does not benefit bot authors to charge every time the bot breaks or whatnot, because that just means I get a ton of messages requesting refunds (which I don't mind giving refunds, it just takes a lot of manual work going through them).

I would be in favour of changes to the transaction system where it didn't charge right away, or there was a grace period if the bot crashes, etc etc. But the only person who can change that is Arbiter; And it's possible not even he can feasibly change it due to limitations in the forum software runemate uses.

I see what you mean, and I also by no means meant it at all towards bot creators. Funny enough, I believe you may have explained that to me a few years ago when I made a request on being charged back.

Honestly in the past 6 months or so of running Runemate, I've probably lost a total of $5.00 and probably 1.50 of that was my fault because even after it crashed I'd continuously try and use it again like a idiot ahaha, but in all reality $5.00 is nothing compared to the amount of profits and time saved I've gained from using Runemate. I'm pretty sure though that the MAJORITY maybe not all of them but most PREMIUM scripts do have a free trial version where I'd advise using those first first always whether you have money or not to practice setting up the scripts before hand. Note that the majority of the authors if you do happen to use there scripts and it crashes you can contact VIA discord and if you send over the logs and they verify it's not something on there end they will reimburse you. I do see where you're coming from though and just wanna recommend taking your time setting everything up, and always double checking that you have the correct settings selected as well as most the runelite plugins disabled. I happen to have 2 seperate runelite profile setups, 1 for botting, 1 for questing / whatever else. Hope this may help
