I am having this problem as well and none of the aforementioned ideas had any impact in fixing the problem

Make sure you are using current version of java? I am no pro.

I think you need to use a 32 bit version of java or something like that.

Update:

I fixed the problem!

I downloaded the client under Programs Files (x86) and the Old School RS client under Users -> "computer name here" (default download locations). I resolved this problem by placing the OSRS files in the Program Files (x86).

Don't ask me why the OSRS client downloads to that location instead of the other one.

This partly irritates me. Exactly like you said @SirBrandon.

All I did was copy the whole Jagexcache folder to "Program Files (x86)" and it seems to have solved the issue. All of this for such an easy fix hahahaha.

This still doesnt seem to fix the problem for me. I tried deleting all the caches and reinstallin Runescape, as well as replacing it in the x86 file location.

i fixed this by downloading and installing windows 10 at the time windows 10 was a free upgrade.

This also doesn't worked for me either placing it in Programs Files (x86) or under Users etc
Follows my log below.

Attempting to start official client. If it does not open shortly please do so manually.
Checking for a new game instance every second for two minutes or until one is found.
Found a new game instance after 13 seconds.
Failed to bind to the game client because of a AgentInitializationException

Well, for some reason the issue is back and copying the files to that location doesn't fix it anymore...... This is quite frustrating.
