1. What Is Hunter?
Hunter is a Pay To Play skill, released on the 21st of december 2006. With Hunter you are able to catch animals all over RuneScape using traps.
More info about Hunter can be found here: Hunter
2. Why Choose Hunter?
Why choose Hunter to be your next Skillcape? Hunter is either a quite profitable skill or a easy to train skill but without making money, this all depends on your preferences. The profit from the Money-Making Method can get you up to 270M, and the the Fast Method can get you about 100k exp per hour.
3. 1-99 The Fast Method
Your journey starts in Yanille, so grab some teleports or put on your walking boots. Now it's time to visit Aleck in his hunter store which is located east of the tavern. You can get pretty much all the traps you need there. For the rest of the things, visit the good ol' Grand Exchange.
For level 1 to 19 Hunter, you're going to catch a bit more than 100 Crimson Swifts with a Bird Snare. Bring about 10 Bird Snares, as you might lose some. Crimson Swifts can be found at the beach on the east part of the Feldip Hills.
Got 19 Hunter? Good. Head west for the jungle and start hunting Tropical Wagtails, these green birds also fall for bird traps. If you lost some of your traps, buy new ones at Aleck's store. Also please note that you can lay two traps at level 20, which allows you to hunt a lot faster.
Congratulations on 29 Hunter! Teleport to The Grand Exchange and buy about 20 Ropes and 20 Small Fishing Nets. After you've done that, head into the swamps east of the Canifis bank. You're going to hunt Swamp Lizards there. There are several spots to do so. Use either the Small Fishing Net or the Rope on the thin tree to set a trap. Remember, at level 40, you can lay up to three traps.
Time to move on to Desert Salamanders. Restock on Nets and Ropes and buy a nice load of Waterskins or equip an Enchanted Water Tiara as we're heading to the desert now and you don't want to die of thirst. The Desert Salamanders can be found close to the Ruins Of Uzer. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Desert - I try to avoid it as often as possible - if you're not a fan of The Desert either, you can do Falconry training, a Hunter mini-game.
Finally we can leave that horrible desert. Restock on traps if needed, grab a Ring of dueling and teleport to Castle Wars. Once you arrive there head to the north. The Red salamanders can be found near the Ourania Cave.
The last stage before leaving those horrible Salamanders. Black Salamanders. These Salamanders live in The Wilderness, but above the Hill Giants. To go there, start in Varrock and head north into The Wilderness. Remember, you're in the Wilderness, so dont bring anything you don't wish to risk. If you're too scared in there, stay safe at the Red Salamanders.
Wow! You've made it far! Now it's time to trow in some Agility in our training too. We're going to catch Ruby Harvest, which are butterflies. These butterflies require an Agility level of 75, so you might not have that. I advise you to start training Agility in that case, but if you don't want to, you should keep doing Lizards. Ruby Harvest can be found in the Woodland, which is located west of The Tree Gnome Village.
It's time to catch more Butterflies! Time for the Sapphire Glacialis. Now we're heading to the Snowland. The Snowland (Trollweis Hunter Area) is located above Relekka. 80 Agility is required for these badasses. Again, if you dont have it, stick to an earlier mentioned method you can do.
Time for more stupid Butterflies. Ah well, just keep in mind you'll never have to train hunter again. It's time to show the Snowy Knights what you got. These butterflies can be found on the same place as the Sapphire Glacialis. They also require 85 Agility.
Be proud of yourself; you're almost there! The only thing between you and that sexy Hunter skillcape are a few Black Warlocks. Black Warlocks require 90 Agility and can be found in the same jungle as you started; the Feldip Hills.

Congratulations! Now it's time to visit Aleck in Yanille again. Buy as many box traps as you can hold in your inventory, and head back to the Picastoris Hunter area, west of The Grand Tree. It's time for you to catch Grey Chinchompa's.
Done with Grey Chinchompa's? Time to move on to the Red Chinchompa's. Red chinchompa's can be be found in the Feldip Hills. If you're low on box traps, buy some more at Aleck's Shop. Remember, at level 60 you can lay up to four traps.
Woooo! The real money is coming now! We're going to hunt for Grenwalls in Isafdar. For this, you need to complete Regicide and Mourning's End Part I. However, you can also just bank somewhere else, that way you don't need Mouning's End Part I. You also need 69 Summoning to summon a Fruit Bat. The hunting locations are in the spoiler below here. For Skillers: Keep hunting Red Chinchompas untill 99. This will cut your profit to 35M, but it's also slightly faster than Grenwalls. Remember, at 80 Hunter, you can lay up to five traps.
The first thing you do once you reached the spot is completely use up the special bar of your Fruit Bat. Pick up only the Papaya's, and set up 5 box traps with Papaya bait. Note that Grenwalls do occasionally kill the Pawya's, this is completely normal, it doesn't mean that you smoked too much weed.Okay, back to the guide. Once you catch a Pawya, set up the trap again and put the Pawya meat in it. Try to have 2-3 traps for Grenwalls, and 2-3 traps for Pawya's at all time. Once nothing happens for a moment, cast your fruitfall scrolls again to gain some more bait. Your inventory will fill up quickly with herbs, make sure you keep the expensive ones, but drop the lower priced ones. You can bank at Lletya, which is in the east. If you cannot acces Lletya, bring teleports. If you completed Deadliest catch, there is a deposit box you can use to deposit the herbs.

6. Tips and Tricks
Hunting requires permanent attention, a quiet room would greatly help. Play music from your iTunes or something to keep you motivated. When you get bored, this Minigames give Hunter exp: Herblore Habitat
