- Game Mode: OSRS
- Link to wiki: Blast Furnace
- Summary: Login to worlds 358 or 386 and deposit at least 60k into coffer near bank chest. Every hour 60k will disappear from the coffer. There are two main setups depending on if a player is level 60 smithing or not; main difference being the inclusion of coins in the inventory of players with smith levels below 60 (this is further explained in the wiki article). Furthermore, the use of coal bags and stamina potions can also greatly increase xp gains (also explained in greater detail in the wiki article). Optimal inventories are expounded in the wiki article for each metal type. Once the inventory is withdrawn from the bank the player runs to the conveyor belt, deposits his/her ores and runs back to the bank to get the remaining set of ores to complete the bars. Once the bars are complete the player withdraws them from the furnace and banks again. The process just keeps looping from there onward.
- Required stats: 60 smithing is very highly recommended as it frees up an inventory slot but no stats are required.
- Required quests: Started/Completed The Giant Dwarf
- Required items: 60k coins per hour + ice gloves/bucket of water (ice gloves only would greatly simplify banking though)
- Other notes: Great xp rates whilst still making a decent profit. Just to give you an idea of the rates:
- Bronze: 6,000 - 7,000 XP per hour
- Iron: 60,000 - 70,000 XP per hour
- Steel: 50,000 - 60,000 XP per hour
- Gold WITHOUT Gauntlets: 110,000 - 130,000 XP per hour
- Gold WITH Gauntlets: 280,000 - 320,000 XP per hour
- Mithril: 75,000 - 81,000 XP per hour
- Adamantite: 67,500 - 75,000 XP per hour
- Runite: 75,000 - 80,000 XP per hour
I think now that the blast furnace automation update has been out it should make the coding process slightly less daunting as world hopping and running the furnace is now unnecessary. I hope someone is up for the challenge. Thanks in advance!
