So my Anti-virus has started detecting a "IDP.ARES.generic" virus. This therefore stops my client from running as well as having to reinstall a few times due to my anti virus continually uninstalling runemate. Help?!

What kind of antivirus you got? virustotal only got 1/52 detected and I have had no problems at all with the client. Just exempt the file from your antivirus.

This is a false positive. RuneMate is safe.

Please post the name and version of your anti-virus.

Whitelist RuneMate in your anti-virus so you can run it.

I am also facing difficulties, I cant' download the client. Even if i remove from quarantine it continues to get blocked.

I get the following risk "WS.Reputation.1" form Symantec.

Well your first problem is you're using an AV that hasnt been update since 2005

Disable your AV, download RM, install it, and then make the exception in your AV..

or even better;
get a new AV.
