There have been several discussions about this, and every idea had its flaws which led into dropping the idea. I came up with another one which you may want to consider @Arbiter @Cloud @SlashnHax.

So my idea is, that premium bot authors are allowed to push through updates without having to wait for the approval (which however definitely takes place at a later time).

There are two main reasons for this:
1) Premium bot authors are making money with RuneMate, so they would have no reason to break that symbiosis and can be trusted more than other bot authors.
2) It's essential for premium bots to be able to be fixed at any time.

Think about it and have a good day folks :)

Pretty sure it's not gonna happen @Savior.
I'll be the scrooge for this one.
What makes you so sure? I feel like this is the first idea that doesnt have a huge security hole.
You can't 100% guarantee for total safety if you don't manually approve each update, but there has to be done something about the flow of updates.

Go check out new bots and give helpful feedback.

Allow staff to push updates..? I just know that even the slightest chance is enough for Arbi.

Anything that affects UX will always need appropriate approval.

It's fair to assume a premium bot author knows something about UX.

History has proven otherwise, unfortunately.

Honestly, the best idea is just a couple of contracted, trusted folk. I'm just aware of the security/UX concerns.

Ayt bois time for a history lesson by mr partysnaked
Its not like everybody can submit a premium bot without having any clue about UX. Once Cloud approves a bot to be premium, its pretty likely that you will have a good sense of it.

A point system could work, +1 for a bot the mods would pass... -2 for a bot that the mods wouldn't pass..

Get.. let's say 10 points = direct access to push prem. products.

that would automatically ensure product quality and quantity.

So you push 10 byte code changes and you'll be able to push all the malicious code you want? Nah.

Well, it worked great for Honorbuddy, granted they only have a 280.000 user base ;)

DOnt think arbiter would accept your idea.

Maybe.. Maybe.. Arbiter needs someone he can trust, I think I read somewhere he trusts party so maybe he can make party able to push bots.

Party is probably the most active bot author online.

This doesnt really make much sense sorry. I believe some of the admins get the notifications automatically, it is just if they have time to push it is the problem. I believe right now, only cloud, arbiter and slashnhax are the only people who can push updates and are the only people who get the notification on a bot needing to be pushed.

Party is a good guy who can be trusted and arbiter has already said it him self. I visit regularly and party is always on yes he has a life but he is also active more so than other admins. I think it would be considered rude if party asked one of the admins to push an update.

Whatever it is you're trying to say, simply having more people that push bots will not be enough. There has to be some system to push through updates immediately, at least for premium bots.

I am saying Party is the most active admin on, Having him pushing bots will be better than having no solution.

Of course having more people to approve updates is better than fewer people to approve updates, but that's not a solution for the problem.
