It requires the hammer because without it, the bot would get hit by all waves if other players don't fix the totem pole, which would lose a lot of fish. Also if there's a couple people running the bot in the mass world, they'd ruin each other's games as no one would be fixing it.
Also I'm not sure if I misunderstood, but the bot won't gain construction XP if the account doesn't have a POH, if you don't want construction XP.
I guess I could look into adding it as an option to disable the hammer, but I strongly recommend using the hammer either way. If you want to save the inventory space you can get the imcando hammer, the bot supports it.

It should also be working on Runelite though (it does on my end), feel free to let me know which specific issue you ran into so I can look into it more.
It's possible a plugin or something was conflicting, so please try temporarily disabling all plugins when botting on Runelite. Or could have been something else of course.

I'm sorry you got banned.
If you used any other bots within the past couple weeks it is also possible they were the cause of the ban, as Jagex often delays bans. But I am sorry either way.
If you have any further feedback on specific ways you think the bot could be improved/to reduce risk (eg. unnatural behavior or getting stuck at all), please feel free to let me know.

This is a Runemate bug, not a bug specific to my bot.
If the OSRS game client is crashing for you, or you're seeing a message from Runemate telling you to 'apply a patch', try applying the patch, and then restart OSRS & Runemate before trying again.
If it still doesn't work, or the game client crashes without showing a message about patching, follow the fix instructions in this video by Party: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oQ5ec-HcdA
Also, if you're seeing this issue when botting using RuneLite, please try using the regular client, as the RuneLite client still has some bugs.

Hey, I just tested the bot on my account and can't seem to reproduce this behavior, and no one else has mentioned it, so it might be a temporary Runemate bug happening for you?
If you're using Runelite, please try using the vanilla (regular osrs) game client.
Otherwise if it's happening on the vanilla client maybe try clearing your osrs game cache & restart osrs/RM? That should hopefully fix the issue.
