Got Runemate and OSRS client to work with Ubuntu 18.04 quite easily. Runemate can start the OSRS client and detects it immediately. However, once I have selected the appropriate account and client to attach to and click "start instance", it begins to load but then just remains on the same "start instance" screen. I can click the button over and over with no results.

Bump. Any ideas? I still haven't gotten this to work.

Your Java version appears to be 64 bit. First thing I'd recommend you try is uninstall 64 bit and install 32 bit java (or uninstall and let the RuneMate installer install the correct java).

RuneMate doesn't play well with 64 bit. Not certain why.
