Every time I try to open the installer it gets all the way to the end then says Internal Error : Code launch pass not accessible, can anyone help? this is on a Mac btw

The installer is very old and doesn't work for the newest version of macOS.
Try to install Java yourself (8u191 for mac Java SE Development Kit 8 - Downloads), and then download the standalone executable from runemate's download page.
