OSRS dominates RS3 as you can see by the player count, RS3 is for new players who have started playing recently and OSRS is for the majority who played it during their child hood.

I really dont care for osrs as it took too much time to do anything. I like RS3 where its a bit faster with all the dailies and bonus xp.

The only thing I dont like about RS3 is the interface could've done alot better with the designs.
