Whenever my screen dims for more than a few minutes, any script i run seems to just sit there and not do anything until i return to the computer.

running Mac OS 10.12.3

It should only happen if your mac or other OS goes into sleep mode. The screen dimming or turning off isn't the cause.

I have Caffeine on, OS set to never sleep, and hard disk set to not stop.

I'm wondering if maybe the bot might just be getting stuck or the client. seems to happen no matter what though.

I have the same thing on my mac. I just make sure i'll leave the screen active

it isn't great for your screen (so the mac says itself) but mac isn't great to bot on to start with
