Hi, first day using RuneMate here, moved from RsBuddy way back, to Powerbot, to (very briefly) RiD, and now I'm on RuneMate. Anyway, I'll get to the point. I made an account, similar name to this one, same exact ip/machine, but different email addy. I had 2 factor authentication enabled, my very first time using it via Android. After inputting the code, I later did a factory reset of my phone because my brother wanted one (And I had two). I only remembered that I could have used it to authenticate my RuneMate account when I tried to make a forum post using my original account here. So, does anybody know if I can still authenticate with that Android device even after a factory reset? Is it linked to either IMEI or Google Play account? Or are there other factors? Also, is it possible to now change phone based 2FA on my original account to email based? I remember not being able to do Stronghold of Security because of 2FA either.. so yeah I'm a mess lol.

Btw, I'm using my original acct to bot currently, can't give more information than that obviously. so it works on the client, but I want to be able to post using my original acct and then have this account removed, if possible. Please let me know if it is indeed possible. I did read on another forum post just now that having multiple accounts violates the ToS, and I don't want to take that risk so early.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your issues with the two factor authentication, however this is a reason to always keep your backup codes!

You might also consider using the likes of Authy for your two-factor authentication needs as a cross-device platform.

We won't be able to restore access to your original RuneMate account, however you can continue using this new account without any issues.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your response. I got lucky and ended up finding my backup codes, so I consider this issue to be resolved. Thank you
