iv done this over 20 times still saying update client or restart client help please

same with me. tried redownloading and nothing, still getting the same message when i try to log in

What's the exact error message? When does it occur? Before/After login? Only when attempting to start a bot?

as soon as i click login i get a green bar up top telling to restart to auto-update or click to manually update. ive tried both options and neither have fixed it. even tried resetting my PC and i still cannot go past the login screen

How are you launching the client?
 
Are you using the standalone jar or the installer/exe?
 
If you're launching the jar directly that would be why. If you're using the exe im not sure why you're getting that error but if you download the installer directly from the website it should work

ive tried both options and they're both giving the same message. even tried running as admin

yes, I've managed to get through the login and fixed the error message. turns out my firewall was blocking the update so i had to allow the file to update.

Glad you fixed it. Interesting that downloading it from the site and running the installer didn't fix it for you...
