This is my opinion, please research about these software yourself before downloading them. This may be common sense but it goes from basic to more advanced for the noobs and the pros.
#1: Don't signup for the OSRS beta unless it's on their official website, double check the link, make sure the link is HTTPS (aka green little lock on chrome) stating that it's a secure site. Do not go giveaways or "search ultra bot 567", they are waiting to take your account and gold.
#2: Be PROACTIVE, install Key Scrambler (this encrypts your keystrokes very early in the process) this will not allow a hacker to see your keystrokes unless they terminate the program. Key Scrambler is free online, like $20 offline. This is great to keep accounts secure, keep a hand written list if you want to store passwords.
#3) Use ESET anti-virus, as someone who used to dabble with ratting and other stuff related to bad stuff. ESET is one of the best anti-virus companies there is and will help you protect your computer, at least try the free-trial.
Keyscrambler & ESET should prevent just about anyone from getting hacked. I am so tired of hearing people complain about being hacked, if they had just been proactive....
