Bug Failed to find a new game client

The error:

Failed to find a new game client. Please ensure you have the official RS Legacy client installed, as opposed to the NXT client.

---

I am trying to use the OSRS client and have successfully downloaded and installed it. The RuneMate client DOES recognise that I have done this and opens up the OSRS client when I click it. After it has loaded however, it does not let me select that client from the dropdown menu at the bottom of the screen above the 'Start Instance' button. So effectively it does not let me start an instance.

I WAS able to start an instance before, when I had a 64 bit version of Java 8 installed on my PC, however a different error message (in green box) would drop down telling me that I needed a 32 bit version of java. I therefore downloaded the 32 bit version of java (8u112) and before installing it, uninstalled the 64 bit version.

If anyone is able to assist me in getting these bots to work, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Are you sure the bot you are trying to use is made for OSRS? I have a hard time trying to figure out what you must have fucked up. (Sorry for this choice of wording it)

Options you have:
1.) Uninstall EVERYTHING Runescape & Runemate related, maybe even run CCleaner and look for java related registry remains. Restart your pc, then reinstall Java 32 Bit, and finally Runescape & RM.
2.) System Restore to a previous state, before the whole mess.
3.) Try it on a 2nd system, see if you get the same error. Then you must be doing something wrong and not your pc.

Hi, thanks for the response.

I am trying to use QualityFighter by Qosmiof2. I am fairly certain that is an OSRS bot!

I will give your first option a try. I will let you know how I get on :)

Alright. After installing everything do the following:
1.) Open Runemate, login, wait untill it's fully loaded and updated. Close it.
2.) Open Runescape, wait untill fully loaded, login to a random world. Close it.

Now start everything again and try to use the bot.

This is still an issue guys, I have removed Java and still cannot install the RuneMate Windows Client. It is constantly getting stuck on 'Initializing Connection' when running the unpacker at the beginning of installation, right after clicking on the .exe.

I have also disabled Windows firewall and Defender. Finding no harm in doing so, I also gave the RuneMate_Setup.exe both inbound and outbound exceptions in Windows firewall.

This is the log generated after said error, which is being saved in C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Temp

If anyone would employ their knowledge on this I am sure it would be appreciated by both the staff here and I, as I do want to support this project, however cannot if unable to use the product.

Thanks

Sounds like your internet isn't stable enough or it's blocking cdn.runemate.com. You should start by trying to find a more reliable internet connection, perhaps at a friend's house or a McDonalds.

I looked into that error (12045) and apparently it has something to do with my computer not accepting the certificate that you provide, whether it be from the download location (https://cdn.runemate.com/bundles/windows-i586-1.8.0_92.tar.gz) or something else. It does seem like an anti-malware doing, however I have disabled all programs in question.

I am able to manually download the JRE from the location above but am not sure where to extract the .rar file. If I could get the RuneMate installer to already see I have the JVM (since it searches for it before it tries to download), then possibly I can bypass this problem. Alternatively, I could try and manually download and install the Java version 1.8.0_2 and see if it works that way.

If anyone knows where the RuneMate installer would naturally extract the .rar file it tries to download, then I would be grateful to hear it.

Thanks

Ok, I solved this issue by simply downloading and installing jre-8u92-windows-i586.exe. The RuneMate.exe therefore detected this specific java version and allowed me to complete the install.
