Serene submitted a new resource:

DivineSallys - Hunts for salamanders, supporting OSRS only.

Hunts swamp lizards and orange salamanders in OSRS for quick xp.

Note: this is still in Beta, if you have any problems or any missing traps please post on the discussion thread.

Perhaps the red ones.

I've used a bot from the other site four or so years ago. The author made the red ones 99% human-like, nearly the same speed.

And included some tricks for me personally to get 99 fast without being crashed by others since I was giving him the feedback.

There are ways to increase the speed by for example stepping under the trap before dismantling it.

Would be awesome to see something alike, no worries if not tho. Oh and beer, that's why this may sound confusing.

No I get what you're saying haha. I'll take a look at that. I'll also go ahead and add functionality for reds (though can't test them bc I'm not at 59 hunter yet). Once that's pushed, give it a try and drop me a PM if you find any more ways for me to improve it.

I may do that. Got 100ish days member on my new OSRS main but I switched back to my 2250+ RS3 main.

Sorry for not getting back to you when I said I would, a lot of stuff popped up =\

Anyways, red salamanders work well, but there are some changes that would definitely improve the bot.

1a) Only make it use the northern three traps
1b) (Other info) The coordinates for these trees are: (2447, 3225, 0), (2449, 3228, 0), (2451, 3225, 0)
1c) This is preferable for three reasons.
  • The first, and most important, is that running to the fourth tree will deplete your run energy over time (it can even happen at 80+ agil with full graceful on), and once that happens the bot will slow down MASSIVELY.
  • The second is that only using three allows the user to zoom in significantly, which will help a LOT with misclicking on the trees.
  • The third is that it will give the bot a bit more down time, which seems like a bad thing, but...

2a) Make the bot release salamanders during down time, instead of all at once
2b) (Other info)The bot currently waits until inventory is full of them, and releases them all at once.
2c) This change is preferable because it allows downtime to be turned into useful time, and removes prolonged gaps in hunting. The timing works out very well using the three close proximity traps and releasing in down time.

3a) It seems to just afk at weird times. Antiban maybe? I'm not sure.. It will just stop setting up one tree for a bit, but then after it interacts with a different one it suddenly goes back to using the first. For example, one trap will have a salamander, one will have nothing, and it will set up a trap on a third. After setting the trap, it just ignores the other two for a bit.

I was going to write something about the bot priority of setting up traps, checking them, and all that, but it actually seems that the priority is perfect but with a bit of extra randomness added in? I'm not sure if it was the bot being buggy or if it was deliberate coding, but if that's a feature, VERY NICE job.

If it's not a feature, priority should be
1) Picking up fallen trap items
2) Checking successful traps
3) Releasing salamanders
with the added twist of ALWAYS setting up the trap immediately next to the player after 1 or 2 is completed, regardless of priority.

Although this may seem like a lot to take in, I definitely want to say that, even in its current state, this seems like the highest quality salamander bot I've ever used. When it's all going smoothly the timing between actions is PERFECT, it has nice little touches such as right clicking the rope/net and left clicking the other one for faster retrieval (if this isn't deliberate then it's just an amazing coincidence with playersense or w/e), and it seems to sometimes que up activities such as right clicking a fallen net to pick up while it's in the process of setting up a trap. Incredibly nice polishing touches to have in a hunting bot. You should seriously consider adding more features and making it premium.
 
I just noticed the weird afking thing again, and the status was "gathering successful catch." Do you have a max timeout for the delay related to that status? If so, you may want to consider shortening it.
 
Another bug: If it misclicks on nearby bones, they don't get dropped or buried.

Thanks for the reply! Taking all of these into consideration

1) I've never hunted reds so wasn't sure if to keep 3 or 4 traps (Figured once you hit reds you're 1 level away from 60 hunt, so wouldn't hurt to use the fourth to speed up xp/hr). The bot will turn run back on as it gains energy, but yeah running from trap to trap is extremely costly on the run. I can remove the 4th if you think it'll benefit more than having it will.

2) The bot does release salamanders in it's downtime but does so at random intervals. It works well for low level hunters because you'll get a lot of failed traps, so in the bot's downtime it won't release 1-2 salamanders every time. I have it set so it'll occasionally wait. But as you level, it will tend to seem like it'll only release when inventory is full or it can't successfully dismantle a trap. I'll change that now for higher levels.

3) I'll take a look at afk'ing at reds myself, it should afk sometimes but not as much with successful (or failed) traps laying around. I'll check that timeout as well

With the priority of traps, it does sometimes go a bit randomly (on purpose). I just made sure to prioritize capturing fallen traps to avoid losing materials, and checking when possible. Also didn't notice the bones (desert and swamp lizards don't have any bones near them), i'll make sure it'll bury any bones when necessary

I definitely think 3 traps is better for the reasons I mentioned before.

And a check to make it never AFK if there are ropes/nets on the ground would be good, the problem caused the bot to lose 4 (i think) of each in an hour of runtime.

HMU if you plan to add black sallys and need an acc.

Found the bug for why it idles and you lose your ropes/nets sometimes - will be fixed in next update.
Going to open up black sallys for a while as well, let me know if they work or not.

Im hunting Orange sallies and it keeps losing my nets and ropes. I come in with like 10 of each and they just disappear and my character logs out..

Yeah I've got it fixed locally (mentioned in the post right above you...)
Will send a push with more stuff when I'm ready.

Sorry the update hasn't come yet, been swamped with school work. I'll try to push it within the next few days, until then I'll take it off the store since it loses ropes/nets. Next update will include a fix for that, burying bones when necessary and black sallys enabled. If you have any future feature suggestions like alching or fletching while waiting, let me know.
