For some reason I could open other .jar's, but I am unable to open specifically runemate.jar. Whenever I open it, it gets stuck at "logging in" and than a pop up comes up that says: "The java jar file could not be launched." check the console for possible error messages.

I tried updating to the most recent java, and when I type in java -version, I get this:

java version "1.7.0_25"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b15)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
 
When I check the console for error messages, nothing with runemate pops up.

The problem is that you need the newest Java JDK version Which is 1.8. something

You need JDK 1.8_u45

I downloaded and installed it, but im still getting the same error.

Open up Terminal and type "sudo java -jar RuneMate.jar" after navigating to the right directory (using cd).

I don't know what you mean by using the cd, I typed in sudo java -jar RuneMate.jar and then I typed in the password for my computer, and then I received this message:
sudo java -jar RuneMate.jar
Error: Unable to access jarfile RuneMate.jar
