Not sure why this is not working? I set it up and then once i start it, it gets stuck on the screen that asks how many id like to make? Usually the spacebar is held down for this action. Perhaps i need to setup somthing else externally? Like a plugin or somthing

If it's only showing 1 option of what to make in that menu you haven't unlocked properly cooking the karambwans. You need to talk to a guy in the village at the end of the quest. If poisoned and cooked are both options for you then try restarting runemate and runelite
